North, South, & Central Otago + Northern & Western Southland Fire Brigades Sub Associations

about us.
The Central Otago Fire Brigades’ Sub Association exists to unite and represent the interests of twenty Volunteer Fire Brigades, providing a strong, coordinated voice in matters of emergency preparedness, firefighter safety, and community protection.
Its mission is to foster cooperation, capability, and resilience across all member brigades, ensuring that volunteer fire services remain effective, sustainable, and respected partners in emergency response. Through collaboration and shared purpose, the Association works to strengthen the overall capacity of brigades for the benefit of the communities they protect.

The Association supports its member brigades by promoting shared training opportunities, coordination of resources, and the exchange of knowledge and best practices. It advocates on behalf of brigades to government agencies, partner organizations, and the wider community, while also assisting with planning, funding opportunities, and operational collaboration. By encouraging mutual support and unity, the Association helps ensure that each brigade is well-equipped, well-trained, and confident in its ability to protect lives, property, and the environment.
